not completely human..

and I’m perfectly alright with this.

I knew i was different. always have. you can think me a crackpot and that’s fine. My life, my characteristics good and bad, all make sense now.  My Grandmother even said often when i was younger, that i was different. I searched and searched.  I learned about ‘Otherkin’. The wheels started turning. I was wondering if this was the missing pieces to why I still felt out-of-place.

A friend of mine made mention of this in a forum over at http://www.pagan-place.com . she would often get questions about being two-natured fey. She offered to read auras.  so i sent her a picture. I know why now, that my aura is silver- it’s because my otherkin form.

I know, I know, y’all are sure I’ve gone off the deep end.. but it really does explain much. Those of us that are of a mind to truly exist, not just think out of the box, well .. then you’ll agree that it’s more than possibility then.

Ok, so what exactly am I? I’m part mouse. that  also being my Gemini nature, I’ve got well multiple personalities, (insert mental health joke here *wink*), that i also shape shift.  So, my natural otherkin form is mouse, but i also shift to a red squirrel and well in desperate times i will use the form of a red-tailed hawk.  I’ve looked up metaphysical or totems for these 3 animals, and well – my crazy ass life just makes a bit more sense. Well, to me at least.

So now, I know why the Goddess Artemis has called me – I’m a damned forest creature :D whom else but the Goddess Artemis would be my patron ;) Blessed Be Lady :)

Ok, so now onto the totem meanings.  (from http://www.ravenmedium.com/totemanimals.htm )

Mouse Looking at Life in Great Detail, Awareness of Surroundings, and Finding your Way.

Mouse medicine is one of the strongest amongst our animal allies, but is often overlooked because he’s small. He may not have the voice of the wolf, the eye of the eagle, or the stamina of a humpback whale. Mouse does have the ability to squeeze into impossible spaces, find all that is hidden between the walls, and see what others over look. Mouse can teach us to see the world in great detail. Because mice can only see a few inches from their noses, their world is very close to their faces. This view of life allows us to slow down and look at a situation or project from all the details versus the final outcome. Mice can also squeeze anywhere their heads can fit (in most cases the size of a quarter or smaller) showing us that nothing is impossible if we look at all the possibilities. So let Mouse come into your heart today. Let him show you the forgotten details and new possibilities that dance around your feet.

Red Tail Hawk Messenger of Spirit, Visions, opportunities, Overlook of Life.

As we drive down the freeway our journey is often watched over by Hawks. They have adapted to our fields and sprawling freeways looking for opportunities of rodents and birds. Hawks hold a special awe in our hearts for their ability to soar in the heavens and to see all of life. Hawk helps us to reach new understandings by looking at the whole situation and then deciding what to do. Their vision can see both the distant mountains and the small rabbit in the field. This ability reflects our own need to see the small details in a project, but not lose focus of the larger goal. When Hawk flies into your life, look for an opportunity in your current situation. What are you seeking at this moment? Is this opportunity ready now and you just needed to jump on it? Hawks change their color as summer fades to fall. The Red Tail Hawk will turn from dark brown to a lighter tan, flecked with cream. So as our days grow shorter, and the chill fills the night, ask Hawk to guide your visions and bring new opportunities in life

Squirrel Joy in our Work, Cleverness, and Spring Cleaning

Squirrels have learned to share the human urban world. They can quickly adapt to any environment and learn how to get food even from the most guarded bird feeder. Squirrel magik teaches us to be resourceful within our lives. To try every angle to obtain our desire. Squirrel also teaches us that even the most simplest of work can be done in joy. As they search for food and mates they still have fun teasing the neighborhood cat and to try your new crocus bulbs. As Spring approaches they also remind us to clean out unwanted debris from last year (past relationships) and make room for new life.

Well, I’ve been writing this post for a couple of days, so I’m gonna stop for now, but I fully intend on going into more of my crazy world later. feel free to continue to follow me on my wandering path of life.

blessings and good night.
