Rainy Thursday

Sorry, no recipe this week. :(

Yesterday was pretty good, I sold 3 pendants from my store! (you can see it at http://www.bonanza.com/booths/celticcreations )
Today has been busy with one piece of jewelry .. an attempt at wire working a gemstone into an animal pendant. This is actually much harder than i originally thought. This is mostly due to me not being able to put what i see in my head, out in form. which really sucks.
Finally, on my 3rd attempt at this, it’s working. I’m nearly finished. here’s a few photos of my work in progress..

this first one is the first 2 attempts before i really started in with the 3rd

this one is again showing my failed 2 attempts and the 3rd in nearly finished form
here’s a close up of the malachite pendant in near finished form.
Someone in one of the forums asked if i could make a turtle. I’ve attempted it. Apparently i needed an outside view (that came from the huz) which helped me more accurately create “legs” if you will.
anywho, it’s time to get back to finishing the pendant.I’m REALLY close to being done. :D
Stay awesome! :D

Wordless Wednesday ..almost

Been a crazy week. I’m flat out right now trying to get in extra money for our move and trying to earn money for the conference i REALLY want to attend. so, please check out the page links at the top of my blog – holiday season is coming up. I may not be local to you, but my jewelry and other art pieces are made in America, so think alternatively this season. Support your local community.

Blessings to you all on this chilly Wednesday!

Weekly wrap-up

OK, going to try another feature to do something like “a reader’s digest” of my week.

My oldest daughter’s Soccer team won 2nd place in the championships this year. Hooray!! They had a great season. All the girls got a chance at playing, and their skills greatly improved over the season. The coach was thoroughly impressed.

Our move to Maine is looming ever closer, but the land lady seems to be so relaxed that she’s still not sent us the lease to sign. LOL! I do hope she doesn’t take back her approval for us. We have a few things to sell off that we don’t want to take with us. the extra money will be most useful as this move alone is gonna cost us close to 1K (moving trucks are EXPENSIVE, & so is the help! >.<
The awesome thing coming out of this, my parents have decided to give us their front loading washer & dryer! SWEET! Mom wants a new colored set, and our set (bought off Craig’s List used over a year ago)is very sickly, but still work. Any one want or know someone who wants to buy a lightly used dishwasher? we only used it for 2 years and bought it new. ;)

The littlest minion has decided on his own to potty train. YES!!! it’s slow goings, on his OWN time schedule, but I’m all for it!! He seems to do the best when his older siblings help him into the bathroom. He’s not quite 3 yet. His birthday is at the end of January. I’m not pushing him. I’m of the feeling (and after raising 3 others) that a child will know when they’re ready. if you push them they tend to have more accidents. He’s (IMO) pretty advanced in other areas. Each child is different its so neat to see and talk about which child did what at each stage. He’s very very verbal, and for the most part you can understand what he’s asking or saying too you. He loves to dress himself, and has LONG since boycotted his playpen for a “bed” (which currently is the futon in the living room) This futon is also coming with us when we move. Which is a blessing as i don’t have enough beds for the kids to sleep on. The boys will be sharing the futon when we move. they’re pretty excited about this, which in turn makes me quite thrilled!

Samhain is fast approaching- my most favorite holiday of the year, and I’ve not really anything to decorate or celebrate with. Instead, I’ve got to start packing. as there’s just a little more than 3 weeks.

If you’re on twitter, the most fun you can have – well at least i think so- is #wineparty on Friday nights at 9pm eastern. There’s a few rules -simple & easy but really worth it. You can find me there just about every Friday. past Friday wasn’t too participatory as i was out with the huz, as we needed to have some conversations about his job. Anyway, my twitter handle is @phoenyxflower find me! :D

Have you seen my recipe this week? I posted 2 this week, mostly, because they’re related. ;) It was Candy Corn Vodka and the correlating Candy Corn Martini. :)

Now, I’ve been researching blogger conferences. There’s so many fantastically awesome ones I’d love to attend. I’ve been advised that Type A Parent http://www.typeaconference.com is the way to go to get into this. It’s small, cozy and a fabulous time! They’ve recently moved to a new location to better provide for the attendees. Sign me up! My biggest problem is, Coming up with the money. I’m going to need to raise approximately $1000 to do this. Well, that is if i can get my ticket at the super early bird pricing.  Otherwise that price is gonna increase by about $150.
I’m gonna put up a Donation/Commission jar here on my blog. Commissions can be digital art related -I’ve got a few sites you can see my work on- http://fullmoonartists.deviantart.com (my online portfolio) or http://www.scrapitsassy.com under Phoenyx Flower Creations.
If you’d like jewelry a good place to see what i can do go to http://www.bonanza.com/booths/celticcreations all the jewelry styles are mine.

So, now that I’ve summed up my week, and I’m pretty sure I’ve left a TON of stuff out, Have a great one! I’ll catch you in a couple days! :)
